Taste Lebanon contributes to Live Love Lebanon’s mission of developing and promoting Lebanon’s vast cultural and rural wealth by launching a new season of boutique culinary tours around the country. Run by Bethany Kehdy, the internationally-acclaimed chef and award-winning cookbook author, the tours deliver authentic experiences around Beirut and Lebanon by delving into the country’s rich local culinary heritage. Taste Lebanon is available on Live Love Lebanon’s website and work closely together to further promote Lebanese food and rural tourism both in Lebanon and abroad.
L’Hôte Libanais and Taste Lebanon are pleased to announce their collaboration in welcoming visitors to discover Lebanon. As more than mere businesses working in the field of tourism, L’Hôte Libanais and Taste Lebanon share the common mission of unveiling the hidden treasures of Lebanon. L’Hôte Libanais and Taste Lebanon join forces with each other in sustaining and valuing peoples’ traditions, know-hows and the specificities that make them feel at home where they are. It is through this human story that we believe we can represent Lebanon’s true hospitality.
L’Hôte Libanais offers accommodations across Lebanon through a bed and breakfast concept which places the warm encounter with the country’s inhabitants at the forefront of the travellers’ experience. The travellers are therefore received in the host’s home as friends having travelled across long distances. This profoundly personal experience is far removed from standardized deals, and breeds the opportunity for hosts and guests to share stories and for the newcomers to learn the regions’ particularities and its everyday life. What is more, the majority of the accommodations are only available for reservation through L’Hôte Libanais’ network, which enables L’Hôte Libanais to know its guests better and offer personalized guidance and advice.
Taste Lebanon is a boutique culinary tour founded by Bethany Kehdy, a culinary explorer, presenter and author of the award-winning cookbook “The Jewelled Kitchen” with the aim to provide rare opportunities for travelers to meet with locals across the country, in homes, villages, fields as both visitors and local Lebanese learn the knowledge and stories behind the culinary specialities and traditions of Lebanon. The tours take small groups of guests on either a one-day ramble through Beirut’s best yet little-known culinary spots, or on longer journeys where participants can deepen their appreciation of the Lebanese food heritage in authentic and intimate settings. While the week-end escapes take travellers for a three day meandering along the coast, sampling the different seasonal delights, the seven-day tours venture around six different regions for guests to savour each particular local dish and participate in the ancestral process of producing them. Like L’Hôte Libanais, Taste Lebanon tours value and support the identity and integrity of the places visited. This is why groups do not include more than 8 people at a time in order to foster strong connections between guests, local producers and hosts.
It is in the uniqueness of the experiences we offer that L’Hôte Libanais and Taste Lebanon celebrate a common ground to push their mission forward. In light of this, Taste Lebanon will regularly share stories on the L’Hôte Libanais’ Digital Magazine about the culinary and rural fabric of the people, secrets and traditions experienced on its tours. In addition, Taste Lebanon tours will be made available to book through L’Hôte Libanais’ website. We hope together to build and encourage an inspiring, personal and enriching experience of Lebanon for all those who dare to bite in.
As the country’s only responsible tourism magazine, Lebanon Traveler encourages the Lebanese to rediscover their homeland and tourists to uncover Lebanon’s hidden gems. Unveiling the rural and culinary fabric, Taste Lebanon will feature stories and glimpses of Lebanon’s culinary repertoire and we are proud to announce that a complimentary Lebanon Traveler magazine will be gifted to each Taste Lebanon guest to further promote tourism to each visitor and local alike on the tours.
